Twitter is set to handover @POTUS title to the president-elect Joe Biden on the inauguration day even if Donald Trump refuses to concede defeat.
“Twitter is actively preparing to support the transition of White House institutional Twitter accounts on January 20th, 2021. As we did for the presidential transition in 2017, this process is being done in close consultation with the National Archives and Records Administration.” Said Twitter spokesperson.
Other accounts that will be transferred to the new administration are @FLOTUS, @VP and @whitehouse.
The move by Twitter comes in the wake of Joe Biden winning the electoral college votes to defeat the incumbent president Donald Trump. To date, Biden has 306 electoral votes while Trump has a paltry 232 electoral colleges.
Despite the glaring win, the incumbent president Donald Trump refused to concede defeat citing massive irregularities. Through numerous Facebook and Twitter posts, the incumbent repeatedly refuted the outcomes of the recent elections.
At some point, his campaign team filed a number of election lawsuits in a bid to overturn Biden’s win in certain key states. He further requested for recounts in these states on grounds that illegal mail-in votes were cast and counted in Biden’s favor.

However, even after the recounts, Biden continues to win with most states certifying the election results. The most recent recount was the state of Georgia but Joe Biden still defeated Donald Trump. On his side, Trump has refuted the recount promising to expose one of the biggest frauds in Georgia.
With the latest Twitter’s announcements, Trumps Woos seems to be deepening on a daily basis.
