Trio Mio has just proved that he is the undisputed king of rap music by dropping a banger just during the few days he was home for the midterm.
Trio Mio’s new release has ignited the debate on who is better between him and the late E-Sir.
“Old generation celebrates E-sir for not only his rap prowess but also because he and other artists natured the new Kenyan sound. The current generation celebrates the likes of Trio Mio and find the kid entertaining. All in all, we have to accept that each had their time and shined,” One social media user wrote on the debate.
“We should not compare trio Mio and eSir they are both legends. respect! another one retorted.
According to Trio Mio, he is from a humble background. He has two sisters and a brother. His parents have brought him up to do whatever enlightens his soul with passion, and that is how he would describe himself in a nutshell. His dad is of Italian and Congolese heritage, while his mother is Kenyan. Music flows in the family as his dad is a musician too.
“My folks love lingala music, and that dominated the playlist in our home,” says the short and lyrical maestro. “I listen to a lot of rap/hip-hop from all over, a genre my bro put me on to. I also vibe to Caribbean music, Koffee being my favorite,” he told the Standard.
Rubbishing the E-sir comparison, Trio Mio claimed that he is only focused on writing his own legacy.
“It’s humbling and flattering, I didn’t get to witness his (E-Sir’s) music. I’m only 16, but his music has lived on and I know what he meant to my elder siblings and cousins, and Kenya as a whole. He’s legendary and hopefully, I get the opportunity to continue his work.”

But it seems that debate will continue in the social media streets every time he works on an incredible project.
What is your opinion on the comparison?
