The President of Kenya Law Society (LSK), Nelson Havi has revealed that a top ODM official has threatened to take his life.
Speaking to a local publication, Having said the official threatened his life yesterday, Monday, January 18, during the LSK’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) that turned chaotic.
Havi said he would take legal action against the leader, further noting that he will go to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on January 20 to report the matter.
In a video from the chaotic AGM, the said politician is heard shouting, “you will die by the bullet and we will come to bury you”.
“He said that I will die by the Bullet. That is a threat to kill me. I am a public figure, I appear in a lot of forums, I am easily accessible. You know he is a friend of the other one who shot someone at a club,” Havi said.
Havi noted that he doubted if the leader was acting on his own volition or that of the ODM party.
“ODM has always worked to derail my work at LSK and that is what you see me fighting to root out,” Havi told Kenyan.co.ke.
“I will be submitting a formal complaint to the IG (Hillary Mutyambai), National Police Service, and the Director of Criminal Investigations on the offense threat to murder made against me yesterday. Should my life be endangered, you know the culprit and his principals,” he added.
Havi further accused his predecessor at the LSK of sending goons including the ODM official to disrupt the meeting.

“First Lady, concentrate on your official role in Laikipia County. You cannot send your known goons to disrupt a peaceful meeting of the Law Society of Kenya and blame it on the President,” Havi told the publication.
Following the Monday meeting chaos, eight LSK members were suspended whereas another council member resigned.
The eight suspended officials are said to have been in disagreement with the LSK president and had constantly opposed his leadership.
