Subaru boys are nowhere to be seen despite being confident after Frenchman Sebastien Ogier won the 2021 WRC Safari Rally using his Toyota Auris.
Sebastien Ogier was being co-driven by Julien Ingrassia in an intense rally that kicked off at Kenya’s Kasarani stadium before the drivers retired to Naivasha where the real race commenced.
At the same time, his Toyota team mate Takamoto Katsuta finished second
The Subaru Boys had previously issued a warning ahead of the Safari Rally which was to be held at Naivasha.
Subaru boys recently came out to address the ongoing debate on social media that most women are going to disappear this weekend with them for the much-awaited rally.
They distanced themselves from such activities stating that they would be in Naivasha as essential service providers.
Safari Rally Kenya is the most famous rally in the world, which returns to the FIA World Rally Championship this week for the first time since 2002.
In the meantime, the WCR Safari Rally began in Naivasha with its share of challenges when one of the drivers; Tejveer Rai, the son to the owner of Kabras sugar company was involved in a serious road crash on Friday morning.
Tejveer Rai who did not not suffer serious physical injuries despite his VW GTI Polo rolling several times before it nose-dived at Kedong was flown to Nairobi for an immediate check-up
