ODM party leader Raila Odinga has tested positive for COVID-19 as confirmed by his personal doctor, David Oluoch Olunya on Thursday, March 11.
Raila Odinga was admitted to the Nairobi Hospital on Tuesday morning March 9.
The former Premier had complained earlier of fatigue.
“We have confirmed that Raila Odinga has SARS-2 COVID19.
He is responding well to the treatment at the Nairobi Hospital and remains upbeat. We are continuing to monitor his progress,” Dr. Oluoch said.

In a telephone interview with Citizen Digital on Wednesday, Oburu Odinga however said there was no need for alarm.
He had earlier stated that his brother didn’t show any symptoms of the viral disease COVID-19.
The former Prime Minister is in isolation following the covid-19 guidelines, rules and regulations.
On Thursday, the Health Ministry reported that 829 more people had tested positive for coronavirus out of a sample size of 6,239 tested in the last 24 hours.
The country’s Covid-19 case now stands at 111,185.
