Prof Makau Mutua has once again taken a swipe at the newly appointed Chief Justice Martha Koome for going to statehouse to attend the swearing in ceremony of the 34 judges.
According to Prof Makau Mutua, it was wrong for CJ Martha Koome to attend the swearing in ceremony of the 34 judges knowing very well that 6 had been left out. Besides, Makau argued that even the 34 judges who were sworn ought to have refused to go to statehouse in a bid to stand in unison with the six.
At the same time, his sentiments were reiterated by lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi who even claimed that the original list by the JSC was changed and another one introduced.
The two leaders made these comments on Wednesday night while speaking at the Jeff Koinange Live, Citizen TV.
In the meantime, Sonko News recently reported how Professor Makau Mutua who is a harsh critic of the Deputy President William Ruto revealed through his Sunday Nation column about Ruto’s camp intentions of bringing him on board ahead of the 2022 presidential bid.
The chair of the Kenya Human Rights Commission revealed that William Ruto’s 2022 Presidential campaign team reached out to him offering him a job to work for them in the upcoming general election.
“Several weeks ago, I was bamboozled when a top commander in Deputy President William Ruto’s campaign locomotive begged me to work with them to get the man from Sugoi to State House in 2022,” wrote Prof Mutua.
