Kitui governor Charity Ngilu has lectured Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga and Wiper Democratic leader Kalonzo Musyoka on how best to defeat deputy president William Samoei Ruto come 2022.
While speaking during the burial of former Kibwezi member of parliament Kalembe Ndile, Ngilu told Raila and Kalonzo that the only way they would win is when they join hands together and walk as a team once more.
“When you fail to unite, you will be defeated by the deputy president yet I don’t want to join wheelbarrow politics. Please, it is important.” She said.
At the same time, the Kitui boss cited 2002 when they united as opposition to send the late former president Daniel Torotich Arap Moi and his team home.
Besides, the Kitui governor urged the local Ukambani governors to walk as a team and unite behind one leader instead of everyone attempting to be president at an individual level.
The burial of former Kibwezi member of parliament Kalembe Ndile was attended by a number of leaders in the country amongst them Opposition chief Raila Odinga, Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka, Machakos governor Kivutha Kibwana, Suna East member of parliament Junet Mohammed amongst others.
In the meantime, Sonko News recently reported how the burial plans for the former Kibwezi member of parliament faced its fair share of challenges with family resisting plans by area politicians to take charge of the same.
It was reported that the politicians allied to the Wiper Democratic Movement were keen on ensuring that they honor him by wrapping his casket with the Wiper Party flag, a proposal which did not go well with the family.
Mr. Kalembe Ndile died last week at a Nairobi hospital aged 57 years after battling an illness.
