Walter Ouma is accused of receiving Sh. 78k from a client- Mary Onyango. Mary told the Senior Principal Magistrate Renee Kitangwa of Kibra Law Courts that she gave Ouma Sh. 78K in two instalments of Kenyan shillings 48k and 30k.
48000 Kenyan shilling was the initial deposit given Ouma after Mary Onyango had identified the furniture she wanted.
It did not take too long before Walter called Mary to make another deposit, and Mary, without any hesitation, gave Walter another 30 000 shillings.
Both amounts were paid to Ouma between February 15th and March 15th this year.
If you have dealt with a ‘fundi’ before, you will understand what Mary had to put up with, Lies after lies.
How did Walter Ouma find himself in court?
Mary realized that something was not right after making several visits to Ouma’s workshop, located in Dagoreti Nairobi.
A month after he had received 78k, Walter had not started working on the said furniture. Mary was tired of being taken around.
She had to find a way to recover her more money or get the furniture.
What followed is that Mary recorded a statement with the police, and Walter Ouma was arrested.
Walter Ouma was freed by Kibra Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Renee Kitangwa after pleading not guilty to the charges.
Walter Ouma is expected again in court on May 17th, 2021, when the hearing date for the case will be set.
