The former Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri has vowed never to join forces with Deputy President William Samoei Ruto’s party UDA for fear of the unknown in the future.
Mwangi Kiunjuri disclosed that and other things that were not known by the general public like the purported infighting and sabotage within DP Ruto’s UDA camp.
Kiunjuri disclosed that the recent meeting between Ruto and Mt Kenya leaders together with the country’s economic experts turned politicians against one another in an unexpected way.
“There are internal wrangles in UDA and recently I heard them accusing each other.
Nyeri Woman Rep Rahab Mukami is accusing Rigathi (Mathira MP) of sidelining her in the meeting while in Nakuru, Kihika (Nakuru Senator) is in trouble for skipping the discussions,” Kiunjuri stated during a recent interview.
Kiunjuri went further to reveal why he decided not to join DP Ruto’s UDA camp. Kiunjuri is among the three politicians who have intentions of being DP Ruto’s running mate in 2022. The other two are Rigathi and Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria
He explained that the decision of not joining hands with UDA was made to help him save face in case it flops in the long run since in the game of politics, there are a lot of variables that can’t be determined at the moment, and one needs to always look ahead.
He added that Mt Kenya needed a political party that protects their collective interests.
Kiunjuri admitted that he’s a true supporter of Deputy President William Ruto but he just cannot join UDA noting that Mt Kenya leaders could easily be ejected from UDA or other parties just like they were chased away from the Jubilee Party.
“I am a supporter of the deputy president but I cannot join UDA.
I decided to form TSP so that if ever UDA goes up in flames, I will tell my Mt Kenya people that I had foreseen,” Kiunjuri said.
