There was drama in Nairobi’s Kayole on Sunday after a famous mtura seller was caught carrying what he termed as nyama soft soft.
The unidentified man might have been transporting his soft meat before the same fell down in some untidy environment which almost looked like a sewage.
As usual, Kenyans in Kayole who were shocked by the incident surrounded the man in a bid to have a look at what they had been consuming for the longest time possible.
Mtura is one of those evening meals by the roadsides that majority of Kenyans treat themselves with especially after work before arriving home. Some even carry the same as “take aways” for their beloved ones.
As a street food, majority of those that love it don’t really take into consideration how it is made, with some Kenyans in the past claiming that “utamu wa mtura ni uchafu.” This sentiment was made sometimes back in 2020 when a disgusting cooking video of mtura emerged online.
Various Kenyans took to their social media handles to express their views on the video that was shared by one popular mtura joint. While others were unhappy about the video, a good number maintained that utamu ya iyo mtura ni uchafu.

In another incident, residents of Eldoret almost lynched a man after he confessed that he had been selling them samosas made from dog meat. The man was held in high regards by the Eldoret residents due to his “specially made samosas” that left them salivating and wanting more.
However, it is not clear what happened to the popular mtura seller in Kayole after he was busted with his nyama soft soft.
