A middle-aged Kenya Forest Service officer in Embu County shot and killed his wife before shooting himself.
It is still t yet clear why the officer, Justine Mutwiri, posted at Njukiri Forest in Embu Count, fatally shot his wife, Christine Kagendo.
However, it is alleged that a marital conflict led to the data incident. The incident happened in the Sunmoon area in Embu West Sub-County on Friday night (November 14) according to the police.
“We recovered two spent cartridges from the scene of the crime. We understand that he (Mutwiri) had 30 bullets with him. He spent two in fatally shooting his wife and himself,” Embu OCPD, Charles Kinyua, told K24.
The remains of the couple were taken to Embu County Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.

“I urge law enforcement officers to embrace counseling when faced with relationship conflicts,” advised OCPD Kinyua as reported by the station.
