The warning by the governor comes hours after Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) warned that there were n spaces left in the ICUs countrywide.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, KMPDU Acting Secretary-general Chibanzi Mwachonda noted that the surge in Covid cases has also not spared healthcare workers.
Dr. Chibanzi revealed that there are 10 doctors currently undergoing treatment after contracting the virus.
Mwachonda further revealed that health workers were afraid to be vaccinated due to a lack of sensitization. He said the union will begin a nationwide campaign to increase vaccine uptake among healthcare workers.
