The principals of The One Kenya Alliance namely Baringo senator Gideon Moi, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Bungoma senator Moses Masika Wetangula and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday had a consultative meeting.
According to reports by the KANU Party, it is the Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula who hosted the three leaders allied to the One Kenya Alliance at an exclusive Garden meeting at his residence.
“Senator Gideon Moi earlier today joined One Kenya Alliance Principals for a consultative meeting. Senator Moses Wetangula was the host. #KenyaMoja.” Wrote the KANU Party.
However, Kenyans took issue with the pictures with many claiming that Baringo senator was the first amongst equals given his seating position which portrayed him as the chairman of the meeting.
“Senator Gideon Moi is UNDOUBTEDLY the One Kenya Alliance FLAGBEARER. He has the Presidential AMBITION, huge FINANCIAL MUSCLE compared to his partners. Above all he has the BLESSINGS of his DYNASTY BRO President Uhuru Kenyatta. Mudavadi and Kalonzo are just Gideon’s SPANNER BOYS.” Wrote one twitter user.
In the meantime, Gideon Moi has slowly moved out of his shell of living a private life to starting a foundation of a political empire which is gaining traction.
Even after joining active politics in 2002 when he inherited the Baringo Central parliamentary seat his father held for 40 years, he still kept a low profile.
Gideon has been building political alliances with like-minded politicians specifically the three former NASA principals while seizing the opportunity to market and revamp the KANU party.
He is the chairman of Kanu, a party he inherited from his father and which he has transformed into a modern political outfit that he intends to use as a vehicle to carry him to State House when President Kenyatta completes his second term in 2022.
Although he is yet to publicly announce his candidature for the presidential race, he is now seen as a top contender.
