Details are now emerging that the missing Kitengela men who mysteriously disappeared last week were notorious thugs under the police radar.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation, the gang of seven had been operating in major towns using different m/vehicles, some of which were hired & guised with fake number plates.
On Saturday 11th January 2020, this lethal gang of seven that broke into and stole 900,000 Kenya shillings from a car Yard along Ngong road were earlier this week arrested where the DCI Kilimani Detectives recovered three vehicles believed to be used in the dirty operation.
The DCI further added that this gang trailed one victim from KCB Buruburu to the yard where he was going to buy a car. Having parked the vehicle he was using, the victim locked it leaving the money therein as he went to be shown around.
Shockingly, the thugs who also masqueraded as customers parked near the victim’s vehicle then broke into it and stole all the money before being caught on the CCTV cameras.
As a result, detectives from DCI upon analyzing the CCTV launched a manhunt and arrested Benjamin Imbai Amache Aka “Bena”, Boaz Otieno Owino a.k.a Baba Fabian, Collins Orupto Ipara a.k.a Collo, Duncan Wachira Gakungu a.k.a Dante, William Kamau Maina a.k.a Willo a.k.a Michuki, Jacqueline Njoki Mwangi a.k.a Lady bose and Ian Kibe Kinyua a.k.a Kibe.
“All have been placed in custody and being processed for arraignment. We caution members of the public to beware of such criminals even as we heighten our detection bars to paralyse their efforts a bring perpetrators to book,” wrote the DCI in a tweet posted on January 11, 2020.
Apparently, one of the four missing Kitengela men in the DCI list was Benjamin Imbai Amache whose body was today found dumped in Mathioya River in Murang’a county.
